What I Learned From My Ex-Boyfriend

Things didn’t work out between us not because we couldn’t get along but because we just didn’t gel. It was like two pieces of puzzles that didn’t fit although we could be the best of friends. We’re still good friends now though we only catch up once or twice a year.

My ex was the one who taught me the hip-hop lifestyle. Everywhere I went, I was surrounded by top rap artists, beatboxers, breakdancers, graffiti artists, rappers and DJs who amaze me with their talent and skill. Our parties were filled with freestylin’.

Although we hear a lot about the drug culture in the hip hop lifestyle, my ex was firmly against that as well as many other vices common here. That’s the reason I have so much respect for him till this day.

For my 21st, he gave me a gift in the form of an 8 foot graffiti art that he did on his own.

The huge neon pink words says “Happy 21st CL”. The regular sized black words on the right says “2 Gorgeous 4 Words From Ake.”

It was a sweet time in my life. I don’t know why we didn’t gel, perhaps it’s the hip hop lifestyle that still bewilders me after three years together. Or perhaps it’s some other thing that escapes my imagination.

Whatever it is, it doesn’t matter anymore because I’m comfortable and contented where I am now.

    Dear Precious,

Like what Estee said, the important thing is that you are very happy with what you have right now, but its still nice to remember the memories and nice time from the past, thats a lovely chapter in our book of life :)

And that graffiti is pretty sweet and romantic. Hmm … out of curiosity, what is the sweetest gesture that the bf has done for you
