Lady of Forbearance

Yesterday was the sixth month anniversary of Kero’s disappearance. Funny how, although we’ve moved on, she’s still in our thoughts. Two weeks ago, I was walking towards the car when out of the corner of my eyes, I glimpsed the park where she loved to play. I automatically paused and gave the place a sweeping glance, just in case she is out there. Is it odd to be doing this after so long?

Later that evening, I met up with the boyf. I didn’t tell him what I did that morning in case he gets the idea that I may need psychotherapy. I merely asked, very casually, if he would sometimes look into the distance to see if she’s around. Just to gauge if he may need psychotherapy. He replied, all the time.

And I knew he was being honest. So sometimes, you can have a dog whom you never stop loving.

The other day, I found an old photo of Kero.
Kero Bobbi
I love this picture because it reminds me (so much) of her great character – the lady of longsuffering and forbearance.

Back then, Kero really didn’t like Bobbi; that smelly, rotund pug; that snores loudly, chews on rubber squeaky toys and chases said dumb toys; le sigh…

But, Bobbi loved Kero very much, and he would snuggle up to her when he sleeps, and though Kero would look at me with this “Do you see what I have to put up with?” expression, (which I would pretend not to notice), she would put up with his royal smelly-ness.

That’s why she is a lady. :)
