The FOTC says, “Three’s a crowd”

I would love to watch Flight of the Conchords but I can’t because 10:30pm is an important time for the family. This is when all of us gather around the TV and watch with bated breath a chinese talk show that banters on Malaysia’s politics. :D Which is probably more dramatic than FOTC anyway, heh!

So, I read the episode synopsis online and apparently it’s about how Jemaine feels left out ever since Bret got himself a lady friend. Aww…

From left: Jemaine with an eyebrow raised, Bret looking defensive, and Lady Kero looking maniacal.

You understand what’s going on here, don’t you? Bret and Jemaine have been BFFs (best friends 4eva), and now a “Coco” is taking Bret away. Apparently, Bret even had to look Jemaine in the eye and tell him that he can’t go with them on dates!

Poor Jemaine, he’s like the big bloke who looks rough on the outside but is really soft like molten chocolate. *sigh*

That’s what I like about FOTC. Bret and Jemaine are excellent comics in that they easily get us rolling on the floor laughing, but they are also psychologists who ably reflect the tender emotions of growing up pains. We can so easily identify with what they are going through in every episode season of their lives.

The show is loaded with expletives though. I think parents should be armed with a beeping machine before watching this with the kids on 10:30pm Wednesday nights.

Enjoy!

    Precious Replied:

The last time I watched FOTC was weeks ago in the HBO office, so I could have remembered wrongly. But I vaguely recall thinking “Wah, so many of those words,” *blush*

Having said that, I think there is a lot of value to the show. It helps us understand what life is really like, and that others go through the same things that we do.

Plus, it is so enjoyable. :)
