I Cycled from East Coast Park to Bedok Town and Think I’m Still Alive

Last weekend, I wanted to cycle at East Coast Park but Nic said it’s too dangerous to get there by bike while Lennie said I’ll never be able to finish all 20km. Hm!

Then, Nic offered to cycle the bicycle there for me while I drive there with Kero Khoo. What a sweet surprise.

We met at Bedok Jetty where Nic & Kero acted like long lost lovers. They went off to McCafe, I went off to Changi Beach.

This weekend, I wanted to cycle at East Coast Park again. Nic dropped me and the bicycle off at one end of ECP, I rode till the other end before heading home by myself.

Female Cyclist

Now that I’ve tried the route out, I don’t think it is dangerous at all. I didn’t need to get on the road, there’s a bumpy pedestrian walkway for cyclists to use.

There are tough bits though.

From the top of the pedestrian bridge. Which way\'s home again?

After crossing over this highway via a walkway above it, I need to go all the way down, even into a pedestrian underpass under this highway via a steep flight of stairs.

I’m going to hit the Publish button now. If this post appears on my blog, I didn’t die!

Help! I’m Stuck at Home!

I can’t go out today because no one’s home. Well, I can, but Kero will get scared which means she will howl and cry and scratch her nails against the door, which means the neighbors will get scared because it’s sounds just like Sadako trying to crawl her way out of the well.

It’s almost 8pm and I’m hungry even though I had a tall glass of Iced Milo two hours ago. Since I’m stuck here, my only option is to have food brought to me. I did a search and found mcdelivery.com.sg. It’s brilliant, you can even track your Order Status by entering your Order ID, just like DHL. Unfortunately,

  • A $3.00 surcharge applies for every McDelivery order.
  • Only Credit card payment (VISA/MasterCard) is available for web order. We are unable to accept payment by Debit card at this time.
  • For quality reasons, we do not deliver Vanilla Cones.

Bummer, I think my credit card doesn’t work online. For extra security, my bank had required I take an extra step to enable it for online transactions which I didn’t bother to back then. I guess I could call them instead, but I’m not so into Mackers because it takes forever to digest.

Help! I’m stuck at home! Without any dinner! Hey, that reminds me to feed Kero. Hey, that reminds me of… dog food?

My Detox Experience

Nic’s Mum is a health nut and so am I, but she’s a bit more nutty than I am. A few times now, she’s invited me to flush my colon with a glass of Melilea powdered beverage. If you haven’t tried it before, Meliliea is a green drink distributed by an MLM company over here. Here’s how a formidable bottle looks.

My Favorite Pet

Whenever I’m about to travel to Singapore, I’ll start bugging Nic about Kero. I’ll always ask him “How is Kero?”, and he’ll tell me if she’s been naughty or nice. Kero is one of the main reason I look forward to Singapore.

Here’s Kero peeking at me from the edge of the bed, looking ever so bashful and shy. Don’t you think Kero has the most beautiful eyes in the world? I think she’s prettier than Flame, my Cocker Spaniel.

Nicest Chalet in Singapore

Last year before we flew to Thailand, Nic and I were invited for a game of Monopoly at a chalet in Sentosa. Since we always win at Monopoly, we decided to go.

Each chalet has its own private swimming pool. A Queen sized bed has been laid by the pool so you could lie there while you sip your Singapore Sling.

Not only do you shower under the stars, you take your bath under the stars too. My other photos of the chalet turned out blurry.

Oh and believe it or not, we lost at Monopoly!

Freshest Sushi Sashimi at Sakuraya, Parkway Parade

Throughout my one month in Singapore, I mostly ate wholesome home cooked food. But just once, the home made goodness felt a little too familiar. I could even correctly guess what soup’s for dinner.

Thinking out loud, I said how nice if Sakuraya, the japanese grocer in Parkway Parade, is nearby. Then I could just walk there, and buy back some of Nic’s favorite salmon sashimi for a meal.

To my surprise, my ever busy hero asked me to hop into the car. We got there, he picked the biggest and freshest chunk of salmon he could find and got the chef* to slice it up. The chef told us it just arrived that same morning from Japan.

We both got busy mixing our wasabi with the kikkoman soya sauce. The food is gooood.

*chef: If a person’s job is to slice fish day and night, is he still a chef? Or is he a human fish slicer?

Confiscated At Customs

Like any caring mother, each time that I travel to Singapore, mine will load me up with food glorious food.

I used to have to carry four bags whenever I make the journey - one trolley bag, one backpack, one hand bag, and one shoulder carry-on.

A few weeks ago, my adventuresome mother even tried to stuff in two chickens.

Unfortunately, they were discovered when they went through the x-ray machine.

It was quite a traumatic experience.

So from now on, I establish a new rule. I will carry only one handbag, and one backpack. Nothing less, and nothing more.

And look ma,

No space for chickens!
