In the book written by classic French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince wisely said,
All grown-ups were children first. (But few remember it).
While that applied to all grown-ups in the whole wide world, yesterday I discovered something that applies only to men in Singapore.
All Singaporean men were bald once. (No thanks to the National Service training).
I’m in a state of shock. I can not imagine that once upon a time, Nic and every guy I’ve ever met here wore a shiny bald head. I’ve seen their photos during their NS stint but I didn’t notice they were bald at all. Perhaps because they were wearing caps.
I thought NS is a fun opportunity to wear tactical gloves and fire real live guns! With real live bullets!
But at the cost of shaving the head? *shakes head* The women must have been very understanding and patient during this season of their men’s life.
