I noticed a few keywords which made me realize how much employers in the IT industry values education.
In the advertising industry, I could work my way up to be a creative director even if I started out in the agency as a mail sorter. But in the IT industry, I will need to get more and more certifications if I want to be promoted. If I went to University to study IT, it helps improve my worth if I were to study management skills as a double degree. It is a merciless industry.
Don’t waste time studying the wrong thing though. You might want to read the “Top 10 Tech Skills You Should Develop” and the “10 Tech Certifications that Actually Mean Something” sections first.
I feel like it is finally dawning upon me why Nic is so determined to complete his MBIT. : P
