Of all the Chick Lits I have read recently, I like High on a Hill the most. I like both the main female character - Annabel, and the main male character - Corbin Appleby.
Corbin Appleby made this book a winner for me. *sigh dreamily*
My heart swooned when Corbin invited Annabel to elope with him. They had to spend a night in a hotel room to hide from dangerous criminals but since Corbin didn’t want to ruin Annabel’s reputation, he got a Baptist preacher to marry them first. I thought that was a very honorable thing to do.
Annabel’s mother had died when she was very young. Her Irish father is a bootlegger. A bootlegger is a person who smuggles alcohol. (more…)

I didn’t enjoy The Debutante Divorcee. It felt like reading long descriptions of what people were wearing to parties. I would rather see pictures of what people are wearing to parties.

I read so much, I must be very deep
After 16 long pages, I chucked it aside and took on “Knitting Under the Influence” which is kinda fun and easy to read.
It is about three smart and beautiful women who live in Los Angeles and loves to knit.

Confession time! o.O
Chick lits are known to be shallow books that are written especially for young women. My first chick lit is Sophie Kinsella’s The Undomestic Goddess. I felt so embarrassed buying it, I waited till closing time at Kinokuniya Bugis and quickly paid so no one would notice.
