Pregnancy-Related Decisions
To the excitement of everyone in the family, my beautiful sister-in-law is currently with child. Baby Ethan is obviously having the time of his life bouncing about in his mother’s womb. Every once in a while, he will jab a toe into his mother’s rib and sometimes, he would amuse us by getting a bout of hiccups.
My sister-in-law’s pregnancy have made me realize the many decisions you have to make when you have a child. Each decision seems as important as the last – cloth nappies or disposables, BPA-free plastic bottles or glass feeding bottles, Pigeon or Avent, Philips or Medela, natural or ceasarean, babysitter or full-time maid, vaccinations or delayed vaccinations. Dum dee dum dee dum. And, in every decision, everyone around will offer an opinion whether it is welcomed or not.
Although the opinions are offered in a spirit of excitement and helpfulness, I’m sure it must irk the parents to a certain degree, especially when the opinions differ from the parents’ own. There will be more decisions to make once baby Ethan is out – co-sleep or separate beds, crib or playpen, pick up baby when he cries or let him be, pacifier or thumb or none, dot dot dot. With these many differing opinions from every person of every language, tribe and tongue in Melaka on the birth and care of a child, what’s most important is that the Mum and Dad are united in the decisions they make, and that’s my opinion! :P
Baby Ethan is heading out in October. We’re looking forward to giving him a big welcome once he’s safely out.

Some day I will be reading your blog posts about pregnancy and child birth. Can you imagine? I'm looking forward to all those posts.
Steph look great and young! Really glad to meet her in Melaka. I agree with you, everything is about decision and it is very important that the decision is agree by both mom n dad to the child.
*ahem* welcome to the sleepless night club! :P
You speak from experience ya?
Oh…. was a big surprise when saw my pic appeared in ur precious blog. Haha. Ya, every decision made is for the good of baby Ethan & I believe so do everyone else in the family. We appreciated it a lot actually. Sometimes we didn't mean to turn down / disappoint our family, but as a new parents-to-be, we do hope that we'll have the chance to raise up our children in our own way; like what have our parents did to us too. However, we will still seek for their opinions if we face any difficulties in handling our children in the future. :-) Lets pray Ethan boy will be an obedient baby! Hehe.
Hey Steph, nice seeing you too. Do you know that the feeling of meeting a blogger friend is like seeing a star? :P
