The Hair is Choppity-Chopped!

I said that after my brother’s wedding, I was going to chop it all off and I did it today.

So, do you like this short crop, or do you prefer my previous long and straight mane, or the look before that which was long and curled?

Enjoy the view from the right…

and the view from the left. The left side is a lot more chopped than the right side, which was done on purpose. Please don’t say that it looks like my dog bit one side off! Also, notice that the back is shaped like vampire fangs, lol! I am not sure what I think of that.

Leaving the hair salon with a spring in my step. :) Hope it will be easy to style on my own. A few things I appreciated about the hair chopping experience:-

  • Before cutting, an assistant parted my hair into sections. He felt around my knobbly head with his fingers and palm to figure out where to part. He was so diligent at it that I am now convinced, sectioning must make a huge difference to the cut.
  • I think that Jackson, my hairdresser, exaggerates. He says that all his scissors are imported from Japan for RM1000 each and that every year he mails the scissors to a technician in Japan for sharpening.
  • Since I have known Jackson for ten years, we could chat about family, dogs, his pre-school kid and even discuss if it is a good idea to spank the boy’s bottom when he’s naughty. I recommended spanking. ;)
  • After the haircut, my hair was rinsed and blow-dried. It was the most comfortable blowdrying experience I have ever had, bar none! From my experience blowdrying at various salons in Singapore and Malaysia, the hairdresser always blows the hair into your face and eyes but the assistant here was very careful to shield my face. Not only that, he was also very careful to hold the hairdryer at 25cm above my head so it never felt uncomfortably hot. This is the same assistant who parted my hair, he has been assisting Jackson for three years.
  • Perhaps the comfort also came because they were using a new blowdryer. It is only about half the size of a typical salon blowdryer, very cute. It looks a little like a blowfish. Despite that it is so small, it is much more powerful at 3700 Watts. I noticed that most salon’s blowdryers are about 2000 to 2500 Watts. Too bad I already own several blowdryers or I’ll buy this from him.
One thing I wish was better
  • The RM59.50 price tag after a 15% loyalty discount. So expensive!
If you are interested to get your hair done by Jackson, let me know and I will try my best to provide the driving directions.

I love your new hair!!! Can’t really say whether this or the previous look is nicer. Previous one you look like a sexy feminine goddess. Now you look like a cute pretty pixie! :P

A woman’s head of hair is her crowning glory, wokay. Glad you like it short since mine is short now, lol. But both short and long are beautiful, me thinks.
