Not only am I blessed with a thoughtful brother and SIL who took care of my birthday celebration with family in Melaka, I got to celebrate for the second time in Singapore!
It so happens that Mrs K’s birthday is two days away from mine if she were to celebrate according to the Chinese lunar calendar (which she does) and if I were to celebrate according to the Gregorian calendar (which I do).

So, we got together with Mrs K’s eldest daughter, son-in-law and son to have a joint celebration at a simple place in town. I think the restaurant is called Hot Spot or Hot Pot, it is next to Burlington Square in Bugis.
Mrs K being Mrs K could not help telling me that I *must* find out from Mom when is my *real* birthday as according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Oh well.
Food was satisfying. Every one was belly-rubbingly pleased with the sizzling venison, bubbling claypot fish head, specialty pork ribs, fried fish and fried rice. We ate up every itty-bit.
Then, Mrs K’s son brought out a very Lemony Cream Cheese Cake for us.

Birthday cake with two candles: One for Mrs K, one for me!
At this point, I think Mrs K felt a little embarrassed. She is a good sport though. We sang and clapped to “Happy Birthday” in Chinese, then English, then I served up the cake slice by slice.
Mmmm… I really love the cakes, both this and the one I had in Melaka. One can never go wrong with cheese. Nevah!
After that, Mrs K’s son dumped every one and took me to watch “The Creatures Of The Night” at Singapore’s Night Safari. Yes, Mrs K’s son is courting me. *blush*

The animals made the show wondrous and the witty hostess made it all the more hilarious. We laughed and laughed our heads off.
After the show, we went for a short stroll in the Safari to look for the wild animals.
The night ended with slurps of ice-cream at Night Safari’s Ben & Jerry’s. We had Cherry Garcia and the Jamaican Me Crazy Sorbet. The sorbet is our favorite.:)
