Mii Birthday – the celebration continues in Singapore
Not only am I blessed with a thoughtful brother and SIL who took care of my birthday celebration with family in Melaka, I got to celebrate for the second time in Singapore!
It so happens that the boyf’ mother’s birthday is two days away from mine if she were to celebrate according to the Chinese lunar calendar (which she does) and if I were to celebrate according to the Gregorian calendar (which I do).

So, we had a joint celebration! His family and I went for dinner at Hot Spot next to Burlington Square in Bugis Junction.
During the celebration, the boyf’s mother couldn’t help telling me that I *must* find out from my mother when is my *real* birthday as according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Oh well. I think my birthday as according to the Gregorian calendar is real too. We don’t have to agree on everything.
Food was satisfying. Everyone was pleased with the sizzling venison, bubbling claypot fish head, specialty pork ribs, fried fish and fried rice. We ate up every itty-bit.
Then, the boyf brought out a very Lemony Cream Cheese Cake…

with two candles – One for his mum and for me! How sweet.
The boyf’s mother was visibly embarrassed, she even apologized for encroaching on my birthday even though it wasn’t her fault. We sang the Happy Birthday first in Chinese, then in English, then I sliced the cake and served every one.
Mmmm… I <3 cakes and I have a weak spot for cheese cakes so both this and the one I had in Melaka were perfect choices.
After that, the boyf dumped every one and took me to watch “The Creatures Of The Night” at Singapore’s Night Safari. Yes, he son is courting me. *blush*

The animals made the show wondrous and the witty hostess made it all the more hilarious. We had a good laugh.
After the show, we went for a short stroll in the Safari to look for wild zoo animals.
The night ended with slurps of ice-cream at Night Safari’s Ben & Jerry’s. We had Cherry Garcia and the Jamaican Me Crazy Sorbet. The sorbet is both our favorite.:)
