Lifestyle Of The Rich & Singaporean

I dropped by a friend’s home a few days ago. She is a lovely Malaysian girl from my hometown. Her husband is from Hong Kong.

After years of slogging it out in the United Kingdom, my friend’s family decided to relocate closer to home. They promptly received an expat package for a transfer to Singapore.

After a few years here, they decided to convert from being expats to residents. Welcome, my friend, it looks like you are going to be rooted some where at last! *hugs*

When I stepped into her sanctuary, I discovered that hers is a lovely home indeed. Not just in interior furnishing, her whole family - her husband and three children, is a warm and solid unit.

The entrance to her home is private and secure. Her lobby is only accessible by a private elevator. This is her private reception area,

Her living area overlooks the front of Nassim Road. Her home is at the very end of Nassim where it joins Singapore’s prime shopping district, Orchard Road.

The dining area overlooks the back of Nassim Road. Even though it is in the city centre, it looks like the Amazon jungle out there.

I didn’t dare to snap too many photos as this is a private place for her family to gather. It is a beautiful one in just about the best location ever, but they have decided to move out and buy their own place somewhere else.

After converting to resident status, they realized it doesn’t make sense to be paying rent of SGD25,000/month!

If they do that, they will be able to continue staying there rent free. But they really want to be Singaporeans, they more than qualify for it, and they would like to own their own property. So…
