A few weeks ago, a missionary visited my church and got us chuckling away at tales of his new lifestyle amidst the native tribes of Kalimantan. From having to swallow a cooked rat for dinner, to being spied while in the toilet by children who are curious about the color of a white man’s bottom, his experiences are rich with adventure.
Most of the time, the individuals who willingly move out of a modern home to live such a simple life do it because of a heavy sense of purpose. For Ronny Heyboer and his wife Kay, that was the exact reason. They knew that those in the jungle are needlessly poor and does not know the abundance of a Father’s love. For example a child who is now under their care was discovered in a cage, left to die by his local village.
By now, they have so many children in their care that any additional pair of hands would be gratefully received. If you are a mature Christian, do go join them.

It’s always amazing to listen to missionaries share their work. Thank you for letting me know about their mission.
