How are you going to lodge a complain or make a claim if the retail outlet that you purchase from refuse to entertain your complain? I think this product is quite popular, I often see people eyeing it with curiosity at the department store. Mine is not very noisy but I do feel a bit... perturbed... that the noise exists. IMO, a product like this should make your room feel like a sanctuary. But the sound of a motor running trepidates the heart, don't you think? Did you try to pry the hat open to see the motor? It does exactly the same thing. The cover is in the shape of a leave. I use two at the same time. At first you won't notice any difference, only if you step out of the room and go back in will you notice the difference. I use it without the fragrance. I don't like having wierd smells in my room. At first I used the lavender smell that came with it but in the end, I just used the water. When you step back in to the room, it feels much fresher. You can immediately tell that the room's air is fresher. I had it for more than 2 years now. After awhile, the motor gets noisy because I always leave it on.
