GreenAire Revitalisor: How well does it clean the air that we breathe?
A few days ago, my sister-in-law gave me a GreenAire Revitalisor. It promises to clean the air off pollen, dust, smoke, and microorganisms. At the same time, it diffuses fragrance into the room. Is it as good as it claims to be? These are my thoughts after trying it out…

GreenAire as an Air Cleaner
According to the GreenAire website, how the machine works is that it inhales air through the holes on the right, sprays water onto this air, then exhales the “washed air” through the holes on the left.
A few things I noticed
- It is not powerful:- I switched it on and placed my hand over the holes. I couldn’t feel the suction of air being inhaled. While I can feel my hand being sprayed with cool air, it was a very mild spray, it was almost unnoticeable.
- It does do its job:- Without adding any fragrance to the water, I bent my nose near the holes and sniffed. The air that around the area smells like the air around a swimming pool. That is, it smells like water!
- It doesn’t clean as much as I had hoped:- May be it is because the air in my environment is very clean. After leaving it on overnight, I noticed that the water isn’t browner with dust. It is the same colorless liquid that it was before I went to sleep.
- It humidifies the air:- After leaving it on overnight, I noticed that the water level have significantly reduced. Where did all the water go? Into the air!
This is my theory on how the GreenAire Revitalisor “cleans air”. It causes the air to be heavy with humidity. Therefore, dust, allergens, bacteria and other lightweight microorganisms can not float around. It doesn’t actually get rid of pollutants, but it does cause these pollutants to sink instead of float.
GreenAire as a Fragrance Diffuser
When you buy the a GreenAire Revitalisor, you are given a bottle of GreenAire Biopeutic. This is a bottle of fragrance which, according to the GreenAire website, is made of concentrated plant extracts. It is developed by German Green Fresh Technology and have been stringently tested by the German TÜV Authority.
All you have to do is add five drops of GreenAire Biopeutic into the water that gets sprayed over the air. You can choose from a range of fragrances.
I did a quick search on google and can not find any organization or technology called German Green Fresh Technology. May be it uses a german name in Germany. Either way, I can not verify if the product have been tested by the formidable German TÜV Authority. However, I do know one thing.
The fragrance is strong. It is not like essential oils. It is more powerful than that. After adding too much into the swirling bowl of water, Suzana entered my room and felt dizzy. Remember the Golden Rule: Just add 5 drops. While it isn’t organic essential oils, it is still an enjoyable fragrance to have.
Is it worth buying?
Personally, I think it is quite a good fragrance diffuser and air humidifier. I quite like having it because it helps to plump my dehydrated skin. However, if you are looking for a powerful air-cleaner, there are better ones around.
Many thanks to my SIL for this gift!

You are the queen of freebies. Always winning free things! Which brand is yours? Is it any good?
Yes is a good one. It is Delonghi brand.
I have two of something similar to this but different brand. It does exactly the same thing. The cover is in the shape of a leave. I use two at the same time. At first you won’t notice any difference, only if you step out of the room and go back in will you notice the difference.
I use it without the fragrance. I don’t like having wierd smells in my room. At first I used the lavender smell that came with it but in the end, I just used the water. When you step back in to the room, it feels much fresher. You can immediately tell that the room’s air is fresher.
I had it for more than 2 years now. After awhile, the motor gets noisy because I always leave it on. One of the ones I use has a dual speed motor so I can turn it down to a slower speed when I’m sleeping.
Hey Luxen, that’s quite good that it lasted for two years. I think this product is quite popular, I often see people eyeing it with curiosity at the department store.
Mine is not very noisy but I do feel a bit… perturbed… that the noise exists.
IMO, a product like this should make your room feel like a sanctuary. But the sound of a motor running trepidates the heart, don’t you think?
Did you try to pry the hat open to see the motor? I would so love to do that, hehehe!
it don't have a fixed permanent business address and telephone no. of the manufacturer or agents.
How are you going to lodge a complain or make a claim if the retail outlet that you purchase from refuse to entertain your complain? How are you going to sue the manufacturer if you don't have their valid address and contact?
Yep, I know. It doesn't seem to offer this kind of customer service.
