This Precious Life

Speaking of foot massages, over at Westwood Secondary, I met a sweet old lady who gave me a free foot massage! :grin:

She came over to clean the windows of the room I was in. We easily struck up a light-hearted conversation.

When the topic turned to beauty and health, this little old lady got excited. She pulled open the veil that covered her hair and a cloud of lush black mane fell out.

I was shocked. Not one strand of grey on this 73-year-old!

Her secret to youthful vibrant hair? Not Pantene Pro-V Shine, not Kérastase Nutritive, but simply home-made coconut oil.

I admired her hair, she covered it again and hurried to her private room to bring me a small bottle of the exquisite oil. She twisted the top and pushed it under my nose. I whiffed it and laughed that it smelt like a delicious meal.

She then poured some onto her palm rubbed it hard on my arms and calves.

Ouch! Did I mention she is also incredibly strong for her age?

After that, she pushed the bottle into my hand and insisted that I accept the gift in memory of her. What kindness from a new found friend!
