When I was just a student, I visited a huge franchise expo. I was fascinated to see so many interesting business ideas. However, I wasn’t able to tell what will work and what won’t.
Now that I’ve lived in various countries and am able to compare the lifestyle differences, I’m pretty certain that a cleaning franchise can be successful here.
Singapore is a first world country surrounded by third world countries. That means, there is a higher percentage of women who work outside the home. At the same time, it is affordable to hire foreign workers from neighboring countries to perform the daily household chores.
However, because this is an island, space is limited. When a family hires a foreign cleaner, not only will they lose valuable space to provide a bedroom, they will also end up living neck to neck with a stranger. They will lose all privacy and freedom.
Even though there are lots of fun and craZy franchise ideas that’s bound to get a lot of attention from the media, at the end of the day, it’s the basic services such as household cleaning that people will pay for month after month.
