Comment & Win: Game-in-a-Box Conversation Starters for Couples

I am a believer in love and romance. I believe that the sparks that you had when you first met can fly and fly again. I am (admittedly) deeply in love and I enjoy having my boyf.

I have witnessed so many old couples being tender towards each other in the way they speak and touch that I am certain it is quite possible to be romantic even when both of you are past 65.

Last night, I met Eck Kheng and Anita. They gave me a booklet of favorite love readings they had compiled for their wedding more than 10 years ago.

On the first page past the introduction,

“To marry is the biggest risk in human relations that a person can take.”

Yet Eck Keng and Anita said that if they have to marry again, they will in a heartbeat. Real love works.

Anita mentioned that for girls of my generation, our mothers had taught us not to be potato-peelers. “Study hard and establish your own career,” they said. “Do not rely on a man, if possible.”

At the same time, the boys of my generation went on thinking that some day, a wife will take over washing his dishes. How then can such a man and such a woman enjoy a loving and long-lasting marriage? Real love takes work.

For this and any other relationship matters, Marriage Central by the National Family Council intends to provide guidance. (Anita Fam is the Chairperson of Marriage Central).

To celebrate the launch of Marriage Central, I am giving away two sets of Conversation Starters for Couples. It is a fun game-in-a-box consisting 50 coasters with a query on each. (See the game in the first picture above). You are supposed to play this game with your partner to find out interesting details about one another.

To win, simply answer this from one of the coasters.

“If someone offered you and your partner an all-expenses-paid honeymoon (or second honeymoon) anywhere in the world, where would you want to go and why?”

Contest closes this Sunday, 22nd March 2009, midnight. The Random Number Generator will pick two winners and I will announce the winners first thing Monday morning. Have fun trying! I know I will have fun reading about your dream destinations.

  1. My answer would be at Fijian island of Taveuni where every day begins and ends here, with me by her side and vice versa.

Alternatively, the cliche answer would be Japan ’cause that’s where SHE would want to go!

    • Hi Andrew, I’m so surprised to see you here. I’ve checked out the island of Taveuni and whoah, okay I totally understand why you’d want to honeymoon there. Although, if you think about it, aren’t all islands about the same? I think it is the experience that the resort provides that makes it unique.

Well, the Random Number Generator provided me with the number “3″ and “1″. Congratulations! You are number 1 so you’ve won the Conversation Starter. The game truly is fun and I’d like to send it to you. Hopefully you’ll get to play it at Taveuni. Will email you to get your address now. Hehe :)

  2. We would go to somewhere we never had been before and make new memories – be it good or bad, it will be an experience and with the one you love, memories will be etched forever. The tough thing will be where in the world would be a good place we have yet to go…because between myself and the love of my life, whom I have lost and eager to get back, we have been over 40 countries and 300 cities…or more, I’ve lost count..

    • Hey Airworm, I didn’t know you are so well-traveled. There’s always Bora-bora. I bet you haven’t been there. I bet you haven’t been to many places in Malaysia either. :P

  3. anywhere where there’s internet access and coffee?

  4. hubby n i want to bring Naomi along for a diving trip…Mauritius…or Australia or anywhere that have beautiful sea creatures…then we want to spend time exploring castles in Scotland! ;)
