The organizers decided Yang Pei Yi wasn’t pretty enough to be singing in front of the whole world for the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony.
So they got little Lin Miao Ke to lip-sync to Yang Pei Yi’s voice instead. To be honest, I didn’t see anything wrong with it until I found out how it happened.
Had the organizers said to Pei Yi,
“You have a beautiful voice, would you mind singing Ode to the Motherland for the opening ceremony?”
It would have been natural. But this wasn’t what happened.
