Dino my Working German Shepherd Dog

I haven’t blogged about my dogs for a long time and it’s not because I don’t care about them any more but it’s because they’ve been so busy.

Dino a/l Bojar have been promoted to a supervisory role in the blockbuster home renovation, so instead of leaping up to poke his head through the window where I work, he’s got to get busy.

Here’s Dino quietly bowing down to let my Dad take over during the weekend.

And here’s how he’s like when he’s on duty during weekdays.

You can see that Dino’s takes his job very seriously. He doesn’t make excuses to stop work come rain or shine. I guess he feels he bears the huge responsibility of making sure nothing goes wrong during the construction.

Dino makes me feel like getting free coupons to buy an armload of treats and rewards for him.

Four Chubby Puppies On Camera

These photos made me laugh and laugh. Just look at their big round tummies! I feel like tickling them forever, don’t you?

This cutey looks slightly bewildered yet curious about the camera. Do you think its wondering why it has to sit in such a strange position? It’s a little dog puppy, not a little human baby!

Look at this one! Its ears are still all soft and flappy. Makes it look even rounder.

This one is silently praying for help from above.

And this one? Wow. I think it looks powerful. It may just rise up to be king of the litter.

To think all these puppies come from the same litter, yet are so different.Out of all these three are little girls, one is a little boy. Can you guess which is which?

Message from Al, their breeder, of Asonial Kennel in the Philippines.

I attach Cina x Nathan pups (2nd litter), 3 females 1 male. The combination is a proven one, giving me medium-large dogs that had a lot of social aggression, stamina and strength having Nathan in their blood. When bred back to a GSD, will produce GSDs that will be more active than usual.

The first litter went mostly to private individuals as protection and guard dogs. One is left and will be taken by a retired US police officer after being shown a video.

Some of these pups will be candidates for police (SWAT) work in the US as I was requested to train several dogs till they’re 8 months, then sent.

Of course, mating with Dino will produce an outcross but strong dogs are to be expected just the same with aggression that Nathan produces in all his offsprings.
It’s all up to you now.

Beach Walk with Kero

Yesterday, we went for a romantic stroll at the East Coast Park. It was just the four of us:- Kero, Yanti, our brand new bicycle and I. Yes, our bicycle is finally in Singapore. I am sooo pleased!

The ECP is my second favourite place in Singapore, after the Royal Botanical Gardens. I love the strong sea breeze billowing at us, and I love the pavement that made it easy to cycle, roller blade, and walk. Kero loves it too. She kept tugging at the leash which displeases me so whenever she does that, I refuse to budge.

Even though the sun had already set, the beach was brightly lit up with street lamps. There were lots of disciplined people on their evening jogs. I didn’t meet any handsome hunk but Kero did.

Weeping On CNY

I am going to cry by myself in the corner. It is Chinese New Year, the grandest occasion of the year, and she’s made me wear this revealing outfit.

A silk kimono, with nothing underneath.

Am I just a trophy to you?

*my eyes fill up with tears*

My Beautiful Girl

I remember you when you were much younger. When you had mousey-brown hair, straight as a ruler. You looked as though you had cried all night because you didn’t know who I was. You were terrified of the unfamiliar.

Now, you are a bright and vivacious girl with beautiful blond curls. Uninvited, you jump onto my lap and try to sit between my arms as I type away.

My heart squeezes as I think of your loyal love, and swells up as I think of your beauty and intelligence and affection.

Prick me with a needle Kero, I expect I will explode with sugary pride.

What a quiet and shy little baby you were.

My poor girl’s eyes swollen with tears.

Bed Mountain

I woke up in the middle of the night, and saw that a mountain had risen in the middle of my bed!

Was it a mole digging up a molehill from bed crumbs? After I switched on the lights, this is what I saw:-

*AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH*

Beauty Queen In The Shower

You have no idea how much work it takes to be a beauty queen title holder. The daily grooming to achieve the perfect hair, the hours of practice to get the perfect poise. The whole behind-the-scene prep may look glamorous but in reality, it can be long and boring

I snapped photos of her all drenched in the shower. Sure she gets a personal maid to help her in the shower, but as you can see from her facial expression, she is feeling utterly miserable.

So what is the solution for the poor girl? Get sucked clean with Dyson vacuum cleaners? Perhaps Dyson can create a new range of special parts and accessories for us to groom her.

Her First Period (Menstruation)

I feel so proud of her! Now I can understand why in some countries, this would have called for a celebration. Of course it was our maid who first discovered.

What happened was that Flame had been invited to a party. Thanks to her beauty queen status, she gets invited to quite a lot of parties. A lot more than me :(

But the maid said, “Flame can not go to the party.”

“Why not?” I began to argue. Sometimes, she thinks she’s the boss. Zzz.

“Flame can not go to the party,” she repeated. “She just got her period.”

My eyes almost fell out of its sockets. “Flame got her period?”

“Wow…”

I didn’t know what else to say. She is growing up so quickly. I feel so proud and so in awe and so sad at the same time.

Flame’s First Period

You’re a big girl now Flame. Time to find a life partner?

One Random Fact About Precious!

I’m supposed to write a whole chunk of eight random facts, but I think this one random fact about me will be enough to stun you for a while

In Singapore, if you stay in an HDB, you are only allowed to keep one dog at home. If you stay in a size-able landed house, you are allowed to keep three dogs. So how is it possible that Precious have a total of five dogs?! Well, here’s a little bit of random fact about each so you’ll know how.

This is Dino, my German Shepherd Guard Dog from the Philippines. Thanks to his strict training, he is the most obedient of all my dogs. Have a look at his adorable puppy training photos! Dino makes me laugh because whenever I am in the study blogging away, he will poke his head through the open window and whine to be let in! He stays at my home in Melaka, Malaysia.

Dino’s mum is Bona Belicakova Chovu, “a medium-build ballistic Slovakian bitch with a lust for work whose offsprings are groomed for security work abroad.” and his dad is Bojar z Javarove Zahrady, “a sharp and civild dog. He is like a switch that you can turn on and off and his profection is explosive, fast and STRONG. He does not allow incursions to his owner’s property or vehicles.”

In case you are thinking of intruding, think of his bloodline, lol!

Kylie is the most stubborn dog I’ve ever had. Although she is affectionate, she insists that you go over to her rather than she comes to you. She refuses to stay still to be photographed, neither will she care if you ask her to sit, stand, splat, et cetera. Like any other Labrador Retriever, Kylie loves to swim in the four feet deep pond. Kylie lives with Dino at my home in Melaka.

Flame is a beauty queen of international standing. It’s no wonder she’s won awards, her daddy is American while her mummy is Korean. Before she was conceived, genetic tests were done on her mum and dad to make sure they will produce award-winning kids.

To be honest, Flame came into our life only a year ago because her original master could no longer afford the time to groom her daily. He chose our family to receive her because we could do that and we feed all our dogs a raw meat diet.

In Melaka, Flame continues to live like a beauty queen. She is the only one who sleeps on polished marble floor and she refuses to befriend Dino and Kylie. She doesn’t like it when intrude her personal space either. She needs her privacy and will seek us out for a pet as and when she needs one.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, my first pet dog is Kero who is a mix-breed Miniature Schnauzer X Jack Russell Terrier. She is incredibly intelligent, she understands all our instructions, even words that we’ve never used before. I believe she is gifted at guessing what we meant her to do.

Kero loves anything that’s soft and cuddly. She loves to snuggle on pillows, teddy bears and my thighs, lol!

Nic’s sister adopted Kero from the florist at the Bedok market. If you’re looking for a similar dog, the florist have a few more to give away.

After Nic’s sister married, she moved to Bukit Panjang and bought a Shih Tzu (I think he’s a Shih Tzu) for a pet. We discovered that Bobbi would pick up all sorts of dirt on his long fur so he gets shaved bald all the time. Bobbi’s a big icky because his short nose does not adequately protect his eyes, so he’d get excrete mucous from his big brown eyes.

Bobbi makes me laugh because he is so afraid of thunder. Whenever it rains, he’d hide under the bed or in the bathroom even though he gets himself all drenched there.

There you go, that’s all five of my pet dogs. I don’t actually own any of them, but since I enjoy their friendship, I consider all of them my beloved pets. This is from the 8 random facts meme tagged on me by Stephanie.
