I can’t find the berries in my Chocolate Berries Ice-cream. Can you?

Nic and I should just quit our day jobs and work as waiters at Aoyama, our favorite Japanese restaurant in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. We went there for dinner again, and as before, were blown away by how unique and delicious Japanese food can be.
This time, we didn’t blow the bank account though. Instead of [...]

How QingLing became a Hillary - the story of a dramatic transformation

Some time ago, a reader (who looks so much like my brother omigosh) asked me why I named myself Hillary. He guessed that that my Chinese-Malaysian parents wouldn’t have given me such a name as Hillary. He has a point, many older Chinese-Malaysians mispronounce it as Heererry or Heelily.
The name came about when I got [...]

I Discovered the Secret Identity of The Media Slut!

After the public fall out of Bloggers’ Treats and Podfire, the Singapore blogosphere started speculating if the producer of Bloggers’ Treats might be the anonymous blogger at http://themediaslut.com.
You won’t have to guess anymore because I’ve found out who he is, I’m revealing it here and I have proof.
If you look at the sidebar of the [...]

How much do you love your host?

I love my host
<——————————————— this ———————————————>
much!
My host is not perfect. There were times when my site loads at a snail’s pace and there were times when my site was completely down. But, my host is always available on LiveChat so any issues I’ve had with them have been quickly resolved.
I’m not one of [...]

Krisandro thinks I’m aggressive. I have no idea why :(

On May 9th 2008, Krisandro watched two episodes of Blogger’s Treats and posted his review on his blog.
His exact comment about me?
“In episode 2, Hillary was much more aggressive…”
I thought Krisandro must be joking since no one has ever said I’m an aggressive woman before. So I left a fun reply,
“Who say I agressive hur?” [...]

All Singaporean Men Were Bald

In the book written by classic French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince wisely said,

All grown-ups were children first. (But few remember it).

While that applied to all grown-ups in the whole wide world, yesterday I discovered something that applies only to men in Singapore.

All Singaporean men were bald once. (No thanks to the National [...]

Three Girls Went for a Picnic at East Coast Park and Snapped Some Pictures

To celebrate our freedom, (Nic left for Bangkok), Kero, Yanti and I went for a picnic at East Coast Park.
Yanti took the bicycle while I took the dog. After two hours of walking, I was glad to kick off the sandals.

Kero was glad to lie down. Yanti was glad to relieve her aching butt.

Picnic [...]

Don’t buy a car. Rent.

Last Friday, Nic and I took the train to the city center for a meeting. We were met with curious stares. Every one had expected us to drive simply because Nic owns a car.
I guess they didn’t know that we live right across the street from the train station in the suburb. Since the meeting [...]

Is it Safe to Cycle at East Coast Park?

Dear Mum,
I know you are worried whenever I cycle at East Coast Park.

Thanks for caring Mum, but see? East Coast Park is bright as day with lots of people around - camping, barbecuing, cycling, skating, jogging, dating.

I pedal on the smooth cycling track along the beach. The cold sea breeze and the waves crashing to [...]

A Trusted Friend is Your Best Tour Leader

Sometimes, I wish all of my friends blog. Over dinner, Suyin was sharing with me about her wild vacation in New York. Instead of having to figure out all the things to do in New York City by herself, she contacted an ex-classmate, Sarah Thai, who’s been living there for more than ten years. After [...]
